Great Geo-Stuff: Lock & Lock Containers

November 13, 2010

Great Geo-Stuff: A weekly ode to something geocaching related that we may take for granted but helps make geocaching awesome.

Here in New Zealand we know and love them as Systema containers and it seems other parts of the geocaching world know them as Lock & Lock. They are the wonderfully robust and generally leak proof plastic containers that make up a huge number of caches. The affordability and quality of our little plastic friends has allowed us to put our caches out feeling secure in the knowledge they will go the distance. The four-sided locking systems and the plethora of shapes and sizes means there is a cache container for almost every use.

The company that produces Lock & Lock started operation in 1978 whilst the New Zealand company Systema started around 1998. Both are leaders in the markets they operate in.

Ahh, snaplock containers. Helping to protect our log books and swag since geocaching began!
